Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) long has called for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to step up its oversight of local housing authorities, many of which receive the bulk of their funding from HUD. He’s had plenty of scandals to point to, from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, Phoenix to Massachusetts — and Harris County.
