Strong start for Daisuke in Pawtucket

Right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka, back in the Pawtucket rotation after receiving a cortisone injection a little more than a week ago, delivered his second straight outing in which he gave up almost nothing. After allowing one hit in five shutout innings on Saturday, Matsuzaka allowed just two hits in 5 1/3 innings on Thursday. He did permit a solo homer to Lew Ford (who was traded by the Red Sox in 2000), but otherwise, proved nearly flawless. He permitted just the one run, struck out four and walked none.
